Thanks, everyone for joining us at the first-ever DC Mini Maker Faire and Making Education Great Symposium!

We are tallying over 3000 attendees and 22+ Federal Government agencies present at the first-ever DC Mini Maker Faire on Sunday, volunteering /staffing our Making in Government area throughout the event.  DC Mini Maker Faire attendees also included representatives from the White House, the Congressional Maker Caucus, the District of Columbia Mayor’s Office,  Joey “Marshmallow Cannon” Hudy, the Maker Education Initiative, and Dale Dougherty (CEO of Maker Media/ creator of the Maker Faire).

We’ll be setting up a way to collect all your photos and videos of the Maker mania soon!  Check out our twitter feed and Instagram at @DCmakerfaire /#dcmakes.  Other popular tags for the events inlcuded #govmakes, #MAKEEdGr8,#NationOfMakers, #makerfaire and #thismatters.

Calling the Press (Professional + DIY)!

The DC Mini Maker Faire team is hard at work – hanging up that 40-foot (bamboo) pterodactyl, prepping the Yards Park tents, and tinkering into the wee hours of the night.

We just added our Press Release — DC Mini Maker Faire Celebrates Hands-on Invention and Creativity in the District: Open-to-everyone event launches exciting Maker month — and would love to have you help us spread the word + capture tomorrow’s excitement with photos, videos, and more.

Come find us @ the Press Booth in Ideaspace, Sunday June 8, 2014, 11am-7pm, rain or shine. We think it’s going to shine!  355 Water Street SE, Washington, DC.
